Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
Admit One is a vibrant and growing technology company based in Wareham, Dorset in the United Kingdom.
Our software suite is used by customers across the globe, from the United States to New Zealand, with users on all five continents.
We service the Cinema, Theatre and Attractions market in all areas of technology including Admissions, Retail, Hospitality, Digital Signage, Web and Mobile.
Due to sustained growth we are looking to expand our web development team. Admit One web platforms run using in-house PHP frameworks so an understanding of object-oriented programming is essential.
With a geographically diverse customer base, our staff often have the chance to travel to assist customers on location with compensation for time spent away. Whilst in the office, we have a relaxed work environment, regular social events and other lifestyle perks.
We are passionate about growing our product to make it the best by nurturing our team to improve their skills and progress their careers.
The development team is operating a hybrid office/home working structure. Work from home is available for the right candidate.
The Role
You will be part of our growing web development team and reporting to the Web Team Manager.
The web team is a sub-team within the wider development department.
Our web team develops, maintains and enhances a varied set of E-Commerce platforms supporting our customers which are centred around the cinema, theatre, and tourist attraction market.
These platforms deliver innovative ticket booking and retail purchase solutions to our customers and are written using our proprietary 'booking scripts' which are an API layer for our POS software.
We are looking for a 'full stack' developer who is equally able to tinker 'under the hood' as well as produce visuals from designs provided both by our in-house design team and other parties.
Our web engines predominantly use MySQL and PHP and served using IIS - hence knowledge and skills in these technologies is important, as is an in-depth knowledge of object-oriented programming, although it may not necessarily be PHP based.
We can offer training and guidance (both formal and informal) to convert a developer from other languages to our specific technology stack.
For the 'frontend' visual content we use HTML/CSS/JS. We have also employed some frameworks including Laravel and Tailwind in the delivery of our products. The ideal candidate should be able to write natively and as part of a framework.
Knowledge of integrating with on-line payment services providers would be a great advantage, as would integrating with third party technologies such as Google Analytics, Facebook, and other services using REST and other protocols.
Experience developing web based applications would also be highly desirable as we look to migrate some of our desktop applications to the web.
You can be sure of a varied workday, as current development projects are interspersed with responding to our customers' requests, and involvement in the development of our longer-term product aspirations. Candidates should therefore be able to demonstrate the ability to comfortably swap between projects, manage their time and tasks efficiently, and communicate effectively within the team.
